Typical capacities
| Type | Internal CBM | Usable | Est. qty |
|---|---|---|---|
| 20GP | 28 | 23.8 | — |
| 40GP | 58 | 49.3 | — |
| 40HC | 68 | 57.8 | — |
| 45HC | 78 | 66.3 | — |
Payload figures are indicative only (not ISO guarantees). Estimates only — not a 3D loading plan.
- 20GP: ~28 CBM internal · payload ~25000 kg
- 40GP: ~58 CBM internal · payload ~26000 kg
- 40HC: ~68 CBM internal · payload ~26000 kg
- 45HC: ~78 CBM internal · payload ~26000 kg
How it works
Containers by volume = ceil(total CBM ÷ usable CBM). Usable = internal × 0.85. Final qty = max(volume qty, weight qty).
FAQ
How many CBM in a 40HC?+
A 40 high cube is typically about 68 CBM internal volume (~57.8 CBM at 85% usable).
Is this a loading plan?+
No. It only estimates container count from volume and weight. It does not arrange cartons in 3D.
Why 85% usable?+
Space is lost to voids, dunnage, and packing efficiency. 85% is a common planning assumption, not a guarantee.
